Sridevi starrer English Vinglish to hit theaters in Romania

The Sridevi-starrer ‘English Vinglish’ is all set to hit theaters in Romania. The 51-year-old actress made her Bollywood comeback with the 2012 film which was directed by Gauri Shinde.

“’English Vinglish’ releases in Romania for a whole new audience. @ErosNow @gauris,” Sridevi posted on twitter.

The film also starred Mehdi Nebbou, Adil Hussain, and Priya Anand, among others.

’English Vinglish’ was also released in Japan in June this year to thunderous response.

We will never remake Awara Says Randheer Kapoor

To step into the shoes of lagendary actors Shri Prithviraj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor is nobody's task says Actor-director Randhir Kapoor. He will never remake superhit movie 'Awara' says Randhir Kapoor.

Randhir aged 67, who last directed Henna in 1991, said he thought of remaking his father's classic once but left it in the middle.

The Housefull actor said next year they will start a new project under RK Films banner, whose last outing was Aishwarya Rai starrer Aa Ab Laut Chalen (1999).

"People have often asked me to do a remake of Awara with Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. When I took the idea few steps forward, we all got scared. Where will we get another Prithviraj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor? Where will I get composers like Shankar-Jaikishen? Lyricists like Shailendra? And also the dream sequences in the film. I am not in favour of making remakes," Randhir said.

"It's my fault. Due to my laid back attitude, the project is getting delayed. By next year we will start a new film under the RK banner," he said.

Asked about the genre of his upcoming venture, Randhir said, "We will make a good film which people will want to watch and get entertained by. May be on the lines of Kal Aaj Aur Kaal."

Randhir would be next seen in Super Nani opposite Bollywood diva Rekha. The film will hit theatres on October 31.

Anushka debuts her character Jagat Janani in PK poster

First motion poster of Aamir upcoming film ‘PK’ featuring Anushka Sharma has been released.

Three posters, featuring Aamir and actor Sanjay Dutt were released earlier but this is for the first time that Anushka’s look has been revealed.

The actress is seen alongside Aamir in the 55-second video clip. She is sporting a bob cut hairstyle in the poster.

The video starts with Anushka standing alone in a loose-fitted police uniform, similar to Aamir’s look in the second poster, and later joined by Aamir.

The video shows them first behind the bars and then on a scooter. The transistor makes it way here as well, as both the actors are seen carrying it in the video.

Anushka is heard calling herself ‘Jagat Janani’, while giving the voice over for the poster.

“Ei dekha….. humaar Jaggu…. tiranjister ke saath,” tweeted Aamir in Bhojpuri language. The 49-year-old actor is learning the language for his role in the film.

Aamir had created a sensation by appearing nude in the first poster of the movie with only a transistor protecting his modesty.

‘PK’, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, is expected to release on December 19, this year.

Anushka Sharma was recently seen in a video posted on Twitter, clearly stating that after Aamir Khan, it was now her turn to feature with the ‘controversial’ transistor. She tweeted, “Mujhe tukur tukur dekhna hai? Toh pehle isse dekho,” along with the link to the special video.

The film’s fourth poster was launched on the instant messaging app WhatsApp yesterday as promised by her in the video- a recent strategy that major commercial films have been adopting as part of their film promotions.

Anushka Sharma attended a press conference, where she launched the fourth motion poster in the media, the motion poster which was a little disappointing.

She fulfilled half her promise by posing with the transistor, but with a khaki on her, unlike what she mentioned in the video (about the controversial transistor, clearly stating something similar to the first poster of P.K.)

However, being a motion poster, it did not end there. Anushka Sharma looks exactly like P.K. aka Aamir Khan of the third poster, and hence she also says, “Conphujiya gaye. Main P.K. nahi hoon. Main hoon jagat janani.”

After which follows Anushka Sharma and Aamir Khan‘s hilarious expressions at various places- in prison, while travelling, with our very own transistor, on a scooter, cycle and in very fashionable dresses.

Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami review movie value of honesty

Well-intentioned message movie about the value of honesty
-ibnlive

Ekkees Toppon Ki Salami has the seed of a good political satire but it’s done by inconsistence script and episodic narration that swings genres
-indiaglitz

Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami is a tiresome film and at least half an hour longer than it should have been
-livemint

Director: Ravindra Gautam

Cast: Anupam Kher, Neha Dhupia

Buried beneath the farcical humor, melodramatic performances and manipulative tear-jerking in Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami is a well-intentioned message movie about the value of honesty. The film is positioned as a satire about politics and corruption, and Rahil Qazi's script makes veiled references to well-known leaders and headline-grabbing events. But Qazi and director Ravindra Gautam can't seem to strike a consistent tone for their storytelling, see-sawing unevenly between broad humor and genuine pathos.

Anupam Kher is Purushottam Narayan Joshi, a lower middle-class BMC employee who prides himself on being upright to a fault. Unfortunately this earns him scant respect from his two sons, Shekhar (Manu Rishi Chadha) and Subhash (Divyendu Sharma). When Joshi Sr is dishonorably discharged on a false corruption charge on his retirement day, he dies of shock. It's up to his sons now to fulfill his dying wish - the old man wants a 21-gun salute for leading a life of unflinching honesty. Subhash enlists the help of his girlfriend (Aditi Sharma), the speech-writer of a corrupt chief minister, to pull off this impossible feat.

Constructed around this promising premise, the film's makers nevertheless stretch their story to breaking point as it plods on indulgently for 2 hours and 20 minutes. There are moments of terrific humor, most involving Neha Dhupia's buxom starlet (one of the best things in the film) who is having an affair with the chief minister. Another hilarious track involves Sudhir Pande becoming a reluctant replacement for Joshi's corpse.

Much of the second half is evidently inspired from Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, but there is none of that film's sparkling wit at display here. The final scenes are unabashedly schmaltzy, and while the message itself is important, it is conveyed with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer.

I'm going with two out of five for Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami. Promising but doesn't quite take flight.
